15. Food Services Specialist

Scope:

The Food Services Specialist is in charge of managing the contract of the food services concessionaire who will operate the food outlets within iTHRA. He/She will be in charge of planning food facilities, in addition to spearheading the production plan. This position is dependent upon the ability to manage all types of concessions, strong multilayer management skills, and previous experience resulting in a successful track record in the hospitality and food and beverage service industry. The Food Services Specialist is also responsible for testing and product innovation per Saudi Aramco environmental health standards, as well as in accordance with the vision of delivery of refreshments within the customer focused atmosphere of iTHRA. The Food Services Specialist’s role is essential in providing world-class food and beverage choices in a world-class cultural venue. In order to align the food services objective to the project mission, a critical position such as Food Services specialist is required to handle food and beverage options for the following facilities within iTHRA:

• Plaza Cafeteria M 00 (International brand, serve to table, 450 persons)

• Great Hall Kitchen M 00 (preparation area for banqueting, 1400 persons)

• Staff Oasis Kitchenette M 00 (for self services for 200 employees)

• Library Cafeteria L 03 (self service for 150 persons)

• Tower Viewing Deck T03

• Tower Media Lounge T05

• Tower Executive Floor T11

• Tower Kitchen T13 (200 sqm kitchen, international )

• Tower Restaurant T14 (fine dining, traditional gourmet food with international style, for 100 persons)

• Tower Sky Lounge T 15

• Café M 00



Justification:



The Food Services Specialist will have an international experience and be able to supervise different international food operation styles within iTHRA, therefore it is essential to proceed with a direct hire. The importance of filling this position in 2010 relates to the time requirements in attracting potential concessionaires with the required expertise and experience. Additionally, the contractor will need time to fit-up the kitchens, develop menus and hire staff. The Food Services Specialist will work on the contractual process, including interviews and negotiations.



Minimum Requirements:



• 10 years experience;

• Self starter, international cuisine experience and the ability to work within a team;
